The role of disaster services is to prepare for and respond to disaster situations in both the local area and across the US, bringing immediate food, shelter, and comfort and emergency supplies to those in need. We rely on volunteers to carry out these crucial roles in disaster services:

Health & Safety Services
This department is in charge of a broad range of services including First Aid/CPR classes, aquatic classes and HIV/AIDS education. Some different areas to volunteer in are:
- Becoming an instructor in First Aid/CPR, HIV/AIDS education, Lifeguarding, or Water Safety
- General office work
Financial Development
Financial development encompasses two fields: fund raising, and public awareness. The Adams County chapter holds several fund-raisers during the year and volunteer help is always needed.

Clerical

Blood Services provides the community with blood and blood products. Volunteers can assist in a variety of tasks both in the Donor Center and at Bloodmobiles.
